Nadon Family Home has shown its commitment to high quality care for a diverse range of Alaskan communities. Our team has a holistic approach to addressing the needs of the individuals we support to create a lifelong, positive impact on the families we serve. Our goal is simple: to provide Alaskans of all abilities with safe, positive, and meaningful care, and help them achieve their dreams. We offer clients the best in-home experience while meeting their needs and addressing any issues and concerns that they may have.
Nadon Family Home provides comfortable, pleasant living spaces that include any necessary accommodations for our residents, including food, medication administration, personal bedrooms, shared spaces, and more. All of our homes have a live-in staff that create an environment of safety and care while also providing teaching and training helping each resident attain higher levels of independence and home skills.
We work closely with residents’ guardians, families, care coordinators, and other primary supports to ensure that our home meets the needs of every resident and encourages them to continue to grow in their skills and abilities.
Here at Nadon Family Home we believe in empowering those with special abilities to have meaningful careers throughout their lives. We do this through our Supported Employment Program.
We equip individuals with special abilities with skills to help them succeed in meaningful jobs. Nadon Family Home provides job coaches that provide as much or as little support as needed during the work day. Over time, job coaches may even be removed entirely as participants grow in their independence.
We create goals for our participants in order to help them become more independent. The goals we create are designed to help participants grow in their social skills, emotional intelligence, motor skills, and other job-specific skills.
We prepare individuals for the work force by facilitating specific job training opportunities that make them more desirable employees. These include certifications and soft-skills trainings.
It’s always great to be able to see your growth and to master skills, with our clients we develop ways to concretely celebrate the many accomplishments that come from gaining new work experiences!
Nadon Family Home offers person centered day habilitation services to eligible Alaskans who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities. With the support of Nadon Family Home employees, participants gain the opportunity to fully experience their community and engage in skill building through the pursuit of goals, interests, and independence.
Day habilitation staff works with each client to develop exciting and meaningful plans for engaging in the community. Day habilitation could include going to the library to read and learn, practicing safety skills such as crossing the street, volunteering, and all around just having fun in the community! All day habilitation plans include goals that help our clients to continually grow in the ability and independence.
We focus on four areas for clients to grow as individuals in Day Habilitation.
